About Creekside Cottage:

The Carolina Calling Annex is a separate building of around 1100 sq ft, built of Californian redwood and now available as holiday accommodation. There are two large bedrooms, two large bathrooms, extra sleeping accommodation in the lounge for a total of up to six people, a large living/dining/kitchen area, a deck off the main floor and balcony from the upstairs bedroom. The building is air-conditioned and guests will be able to enjoy the grounds and swimming pool during the summer months (normally from the first of May to the end of October, although Creekside Cottage can be let year-round, as it also has heating for the winter months).

There are many touches that make Creekside Cottage special. The water supply is pure from our own crystal clear spring feeding the well. We have installed high-speed internet access for the convenience of our guests and there is cable television in the lounge and both bedrooms. A selection of popular DVDs are available for our guests and the book shelf carries books of local interest, birdwatching and nature guides, maps and a selection of fiction for holiday reading. Sit on the south-facing deck or balcony and watch the birds come to the bird feeder a few feet away in the pear tree, or from April to September, enjoy the hummingbirds sipping at their feeder, which hangs nearby. Take a stroll down to the stream and ponds and enjoy the wildlife. We have many birds visiting the stream, ponds and abundant wild flowers and we are hoping for some ducklings in the Spring from our beautiful wood ducks (check out their photo in the photo gallery). Each year, the show of bulbs, azaleas and rhododendrons should become a greater delight for Spring visitors and on a warm summer's evening, visitors can go for a swim in the pool or enjoy a barbecue down by the stream, where we have a picnic area. There are trails through the woods that are particularly lovely in the Spring and Autumn, but for those who enjoy guaranteed heat, visit any time from mid-June to early September and you will be able to go for a midnight dip if you choose - the evening temperatures rarely fall below 70F. Summer also brings the beauty of banks of wildflowers, rows of sunflowers and the dazzling canna lilies and many other flowers.

There is plenty to do in the local area, but many visitors just like to "chill out" in the grounds here; the garden is a registered wildlife sanctuary and anyone who enjoys nature will find it a relaxing haven where you can easily lose a few hours just wandering around.

Have a look at our guest book and see what our guests have to say about their experience at creekside Cottage! We hope that you, too, will one day be writing about your stay here and adding to the information on this website. Thank you to the guests we have had so far for the pleasure of your company!
